About

Company

NWP Coal Canada Ltd (“NWP”) is a Canadian resource development company committed to developing the Crown Mountain Hard Coking Coal Project to provide a source of steelmaking coal to global seaborne markets.

At the helm of this endeavour is NWP’s President, Michael Grey, who leads a small but dynamic owner’s team. Grey’s extensive involvement in developing new projects showcases a commitment to collaboration with Indigenous groups and community stakeholders. This cooperative approach ensures that NWP integrates seamlessly into the communities it operates in.

Heading the Project Development front is Dave Baines, Director of Project Development, based in Elkford, BC. Baines skillfully weaves NWP into the fabric of the Elk Valley, embedding the company’s plans and activities into the local landscape. This hands-on approach not only ensures the project’s success but also underscores NWP’s dedication to being a responsible and community-driven entity.

What sets NWP apart is its ownership structure, being owned by experienced coal miners with a successful track record in developing and operating coking coal mines. Jameson Resources Limited (ASX:JAL) and Bathurst Resources Limited (ASX:BRL), both ASX-listed entities, are the owners of NWP.

Jameson Resources contributes a wealth of experience through its highly seasoned board and management team, renowned for their success in coal mine development. On the other hand, Bathurst Resources brings invaluable know-how as New Zealand’s largest specialist coal company, offering a practical and hands-on perspective to NWP’s operations. This blend of expertise and practical knowledge positions NWP as a formidable player in the coal mining industry, ensuring the Crown Mountain Hard Coking Coal Project’s success while maintaining a strong commitment to community and sustainability.
